Barging in France

We offer numerous options for your barging holiday in France on European Waterways’ beautiful fully crewed hotel barges. To see our full range of fully crewed hotel barges throughout France, visit our dedicated website at www.frenchbarging.com.au

Barging is not just about cruising along a river!
Yes, there is plenty of time spent cruising quietly through the picturesque countryside, well off the "beaten tourist track". You can also walk or cycle along the towpath at your leisure, relax on deck, or enjoy the on-deck Jacuzzi. However your relaxation time is interspersed with captivating excursions, to local markets, chateaux, wineries, villages and historic sites.

Exceptional local cuisine and wines are provided by your private on-board chef, and different delicious cheeses sampled each day. Barging is a truly unique French experience, and one that will leave you with unforgettable memories of an enchanting holiday!

OUR TOURS THAT INCLUDE BARGE CRUISES
We have a selection of tours that combine a week in a particular beautiful region of France and a fabulous all-inclusive week cruising on either the wonderful "Impressioniste" in Burgundy or the lovely "Athos" on the Canal du Midi.

Spectacular South West & Barging through Burgundy
A week on the "Impressioniste" PLUS a week exploring the stunning Dordogne/Bordeaux region – medieval history comes to life through extraordinary history, castles, dramatic hill villages and scenic river valleys, and discover magnificent vineyards, wine chateaux and towns.

Spectacular South West & Barging through Provence
The south western French region of the Dordogne is a feast of historic sites, perched villages, deep river valleys and the "land of 1,000 chateaux". After a week based in a medieval village, we join the deluxe barge "Napoleon" for our fabulous cruise on the Rhone River in Provence.

On all of our tours, the barge is chartered for the exclusive use of our group.
